Petra and Will are long time Queenstown locals, even though they hale from the other side of the world. They wanted to do something unforgettable for their wedding so they dragged a gaggle of their nearest and dearest into the depths of New Zealand’s iconic Fiordland National Park to celebrate their love and lives together on an overnight cruise in Doubtful Sound.
A barefoot wedding set in the Paradise, what could be better? Anna and Andy took to the wild and got hitched in the forest of Paradise, New Zealand. With a grassroots atmosphere, their day featured an intimate woodland ceremony and a beautiful reception filled with lovingly crafted DIY decorations.
Every year hikers travel to New Zealand to experience walking along many of the Great Walks NZ has to offer. Not many people can say they got hitched on one of them! Simone and Tom quite literally took their wedding off the beaten path to commit to each other at a hut in the backcountry of New Zealand’s Routeburn Track. The best part? Not only did they get to experience the stillness of the surrounding forests and mountains together, their friends and family did too!
When a couple’s first question is “Can you ski?”, you know their wedding is going to be incredible. Sarah and Jeremy traded the wedding dress and tuxedo in favour of snow suits and skis. They decided they wanted to kickstart their lifetime of adventure together by heli-skiing down the Tasman Glacier in Mount Cook National Park.
Fenella and Billy decided to break tradition and opted for a wedding that represented who they were as a couple. Together they share a passion for hiking and the outdoors and their wedding was no different. They gathered all their loved ones, despite no one having any experience, and set off on their cross country skis to get hitched in the rolling white hills of the Crown Range Mountains outside of Wanaka.
