Petra and Will were long time Queenstown locals, even though they hale from the other side of the world. They wanted to do something different for their wedding so they dragged a gaggle of their nearest and dearest into the depths of New Zealand’s iconic Fiordland National Park to celebrate their love and lives together on an overnight cruise in Doubtful Sound. The star of the day was Hanna their 5 year old daughter who was utterly entranced when a pod of dolphins started riding the boat’s wake. Fiordland is one of the wettest places on earth, and it delivered on that promise. The rain came down all day, but that didn’t stop everyone getting outside. There was kayaking, and a very cold plunge into the Fiord! I’ve never experienced a first dance in torrential rain on top of a boat before, but I loved it. Petra and Will were just so ecstatic to be with their family and friends in their happy place, and we were stoked to be part of their journey. Love is the greatest adventure, so why not start your married life with an adventure. The wetter the better!
